Does the job but quality could be better, June 19, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Allen Ultra Compact Folding 1-Bike Carrier (Sports) I'm using it on my miata. Love the size and easy on/off with only three straps. It is working beautifully. I have been using it 3 to 4 times a week to go 8 miles to the local trails. The bad news is that the clips are plastic. One of them has already broken in half after just a few weeks. Luckily, the strap can be threaded through the white part and it seems to hold. They really should make the clips metal.

Let me just preface this by saying that I love bikes and all things bike related. I have owned at least five or six bike racks. This is the best rack you can buy under 80 bucks. Maybe even under 150. I love it and I have owned all things Thule and saris. This is perfect for carrying my road or mountain bike on the back of my car or my wife's car in a pinch. I use my Thule platform rack for longer trips, but for just going out on the mountain or road early in the morning, quality is perfect. Super tight fit on the car and has minimal contact with the bicycle and the paint of the car. Folds into something about the size off shoebox and stows in the trunk in seconds. I would not buy the two bike one because the bikes would surely bang into each other. Great product though. Just use a bungee cord to keep the bike from banging into the rack when in use. Make sure to secure wheels with the extra strap length. LOVE this rack! Don't worry about expensive bicycles... Read more

The Allen site doesn't list too many vehicles that this rack will fit, but if your car has a trunk it will probably work. For the record it works fine on late 1950's Ford passenger cars :)
